Also there was a mansion near Dupont Circle and some other row houses.Lindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03926160565295786357noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1038560218657433071.post-55906932600359013532013-06-07T08:22:39.350-07:002013-06-07T08:22:39.350-07:00Hi, I just read about your site in the Post this m...Hi, I just read about your site in the Post this morning. Very cool. As an English Major, I appreciate the rich history of DC based authors, you are providing. As a web developer, I'm wondering if you have any plans to "map" these homes so visitors to DC could go on a walking/bike tour using the info you provide.

If you are interested in "mapping" the homes using a tool like google maps, let me know; I'd be happy to work on this.

Thanks,

Rob Ostheimerrob.ostheimerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16378427909615519910noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1038560218657433071.post-84597697273085542922013-05-03T10:04:13.156-07:002013-05-03T10:04:13.156-07:00Frances Scott "Scottie" Fitzgerald, F. ...Other Fitzgerald links to DC include these three:
Fitzgerald was named for his famous second cousin three times removed, Francis Scott Key. Key lived in DC, and one of his houses still stands. There's also a park and bridge named for him.
Fitzgerald's grandparents lived in a house at 1815 N St. NW (now razed), and that's where Fitzgerald's parents were married--in the living room of that home.
Another prominent relative on Fitzgerald's father's side was Mary Surratt, a second cousin to Fitzgerald. Her boarding house at 604 H St. NW in Chinatown still stands. Surratt was hanged as a conspirator in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
Fitzgerald's daughter lived for many years in DC, and worked for the Washington Post. Scottie authored Don't Quote Me, about women of the Washington press, and The Romantic Egotists, a biography of her parents.Kim Robertshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08178486931069132247noreply@blogger.com
